Cumulative Property of Addition

The Commutative Property of Addition states that the order in which you add two numbers does not affect the sum. In other words, for any two numbers (a) and (b):

a+b=b+aa + b = b + a

Where:

  • (a, b) = real numbers

For example:

3+5=5+33 + 5 = 5 + 3

Both expressions equal 8, demonstrating that the order of addition doesn’t change the result.

Latex

a + b = b + a
